Brenna Lyons
"Thief of Attention by Misdirection"
Brenna Lyons lives in Haverhill, MA with her husband, three children, and a zoo of pets. She was born and raised in the Hazelwood/Glenwood area of Pittsburgh, PA and toured the east coast as a Navy wife for thirteen years, nine of them in VA, Beach, where she wrote her first book, Prophecy.
She is a poet, journalist and novelist who currently has 37 books and stories published and another 29 signed between her 7 publishers and self-publishing. In her second year as a published novelist, she's finaled for 3 EPPIES, 3 PEARLS, 2 CAPAS, a DREAM REALM, a TREBLE HEART, has taken home 12 Top Ten placements in the P&E Polling (2 of which are for an e-zine she helps run) and has earned Honorable Mention in the PEARL for Night Warriors.
She enjoys the Society for Creative Anachronism and is a member of such groups as Broad Universe, EPIC, WRW and ERA. In her free time, she's been co-chair for the EPIC PR committee for the last year, handles a portion of PR for several other groups including the Dark Romance Group, eXtasy Books, and Triskelion, works as a substitute preschool teacher and raises 3 children and 7 puppies. She has jokingly been named "The Susan Lucci of e-publishing," "the marketing czar," and "the Godfather of Dark Romance" by groups she frequents. She teaches (adults) on subjects ranging from e-book promotion and e-publishing to juggling multiple publishers, tax write-offs, genres and even basic writing skills.
Brenna holds a BS in Accounting and a Certificate of Computer Programming. Why? An auditing teacher commented that she would either "make the perfect auditor or the perfect thief," and she had been writing for eleven years with little professional training—in effect, a thief of attention by misdirection.
Never one to pass up a challenge, Brenna has worked as an auditor, tracking down fraud suspects, finding the backdoors into exchange computer systems, creating accounting programs for government and small businesses, and as a writer. Overall, it's the best of both worlds.
