Alice Blue

Alice Blue

After eighteen years as a secretary in local county government, Alice Blue took early retirement and began her writing career.

Hunting moose and deer in Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Wisconsin covered a lot of the territory she writes about in some of her Western Historical Romances.

Hanged Woman Gulch was the result of a family reunion in northern Nebraska. A story developed from the loan of a book on vigilantes in the early days of Nebraska statehood.

Locally, Wisconsin, Beyond the Rock was written starting with the area where Alice lives, Lake Koshkonong, and proceeded to Colorado.

Secret Gamble started out with a villain from another story who became so well liked his name got changed and he became the hero of a different book.

Alice participated in Tales From The Treasure Trove, Volume 1 which won the 2006 EPPIE Award for Best Anthology. Alice's story, "The Best Kind of Opals" is about a matchmaking mama who thinks her sons should be married. She sends them to a new area hoping they will find brides as well as opals for the family chain of jewelry stores.

Sixteen Gold Nuggets, due to be released in July 2006, includes the characters from Hanged Woman Gulch.

Alice is currently working on a contemporary romantic suspense as well as “Martha” the last of the Hanged Woman series, and another western historical romance entitled “Widowmaker Range”.
